# Airdrop

An airdrop is a type of token transfer that targets a list of wallet addresses. This type of payment allows you to transfer to a large number of addresses varying amounts of a token in one proposal. Airdrops are good for sending lump sum amounts to a group of recipients, typically associated with presale activity, but also useful for something like payroll for your organization.

Airdrop proposals can be created using the Airdrop proposal template.

The asset menu allows you to select any asset held in the project treasury.

You can either add each address and the amount to transfer one at a time, or you can use a CSV file upload or copy and paste. Your CSV should be formatted as “address,amount”, each on a new line, as follows:

0x0001…0000,123

0x0002…0000,456

0x0003…0000,789<br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.decentdao.org/app/user-guide/payments/airdrop.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
