Next Steps

Delegate Your ERC-20 Tokens

For ERC-20 token voting projects, tokens start out as not delegated to anyone. Though you may hold the tokens, you need to delegate them to a wallet to grant that wallet voting power.

If you’d like to make changes to the project, which requires submitting proposals, you’ll need to first delegate your tokens to yourself. You can accomplish this by using the Delegate button on your project’s homepage.

If at a later date you’d like to transfer voting power to another wallet, you may use this same method to delegate the tokens. You may reclaim voting power at any time by delegating the tokens back to your own wallet. Note that delegating tokens to another wallet only grants voting power, not proposal power.

Customize Your Project

Here are some things you may wish to do now that your project has been created:

Add funds to your project treasury

If you’re planning to pay vendors or members through the project, you’ll want to start out by adding some funds for that purpose to the project treasury.

Add roles

For assigning roles to specific members either for the purpose of controlling proposal permission or for the purpose of setting up payments.

Add nodes

Nodes are an extension of your top level project. If you’d like to introduce a project hierarchy, you can add nodes with separate governance to distribute operations across an organization.

Set up gasless voting

Sponsor gas fees for voting to encourage participation.

Set up a token for your multisig DAO

If you’re using a multisig DAO and preparing either for a token sale or a token holding based asset distribution, you’ll want to configure a token.

Enable staking

If you want to distribute assets based on token holdings, you’ll need to configure staking for your project.

Set up asset distribution

If you’d like to have the option to have incoming assets distributed automatically between the project treasury and different addresses or stakers, you’ll want to set up an asset split.

Set up a token sale

You may want to familiarize yourself with the project structure and app experience before you dive into a token sale, but as soon as you are ready you can begin filling in the required details for your first sale.

Each of the above is explained in greater detail in the following sections of our documentation.

Note that actions related to making changes to your project or transferring assets from your project typically require you to be connected to a wallet with proposal permission.

If you do not see an option described in this guide, make sure that you are connected to the correct wallet and have tokens delegated if you’re using an ERC-20 token project.
