# Delegation

Before you can vote, you’ll need to delegate your tokens. Voting power needs to be delegated to a wallet before votes can be cast. In most cases, you’ll want to delegate your tokens to yourself, but you can at any time transfer voting power to a different wallet using delegation.

You can accomplish this using the Delegate button on your project’s homepage.
